Weight loss

Dr. Berman- I am 38 years old and last year I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes.  That scared me.  I signed up for the gym and got a nutritionist. I have since lost 55 pounds and I feel better than ever.  I still have a good 20 to go, but my life has just changed for the better.  That said, my girlfriend has not embraced this new lifestyle.  She has a good 40 pounds to lose.  I still love her to death, and I don’t care about her body per say, but what I do care about is the difference in our lifestyles and energy at this point.  She never wants to do anything active and now she is self conscious in the bedroom.  I want her to get healthy so we can enjoy things together.  I keep telling her that I will help, but she keeps telling me to leave her alone and that I should leave her if I’m that unhappy with her. That’s not it!  I just see what the potential can be for us and I don’t want to give up on that. What do I do?  John
