Tattoo's when your older...

Dr. Berman- My wife and I just had a baby and we are very in love with her. I have always said that when we had kids we should get small tattoos of their birth-dates on each of us. I thought that this would solidify us as family unit and just bring the bond closer. My wife always agreed to it. Now though, she says that she doesn’t want to get it done. She doesn’t want our daughter to see skin that has been tainted later in life. I have many tattoos and this never bothered my wife. I also didn’t think she thought of my skin as tainted. I wanted to tattoo wedding bands and she said no, so I said if we have kids, I want you to get their birthday with me. She 100% agreed. Now she is going back on it. I am trying to be reasonable but this is who I am and how I express myself and she said she would. Am I being unreasonable? Is she? I don’t want to make it a right/wrong but this is something my wife and I told each other we would do together. What do you think? Jesse
