One-Sided Relationship...
Posted by By: Dr. Laura Berman on January 17 2019
Dr. Berman - I've been with my boyfriend for about two years. I've been feeling like things are getting very one-sided lately: where I'm putting out more effort of maintaining a relationship with things like going out, spending time together, and showing affection than he is. My boyfriend says he loves me and everything, but I can't help feeling that it's one-sided and that he's not showing me he cares. I've tried asking him how I can tell he cares and he says I should just know. I've been lead on and lied to before, so I have a hard time taking things for face value like that and it doesn't seem like a real answer to me. I'm not sure how to approach this with my boyfriend without upsetting him, but I don't want to be in a relationship where I'm the only one putting effort forward. I don't feel like I'm getting enough from him anymore and I don't want to give up yet. I love him dearly, but I don't want to keep getting hurt and let down by this. Christina
