Eye Contact.

Dr. Berman, I started therapy for PTSD from emotional abuse about three weeks ago. I have a lot of anxiety from this, but I have always been super shy and one to hide behind my friends, or family in social situations. Lately, I have been having issues with eye contact. I can't keep my eyes focused on other people's eyes. I tend to look down instead and look at privates instead. I know it makes others uncomfortable and I don't mean to. It makes me uncomfortable also. I work in retail, so I can't ignore this problem. Since I have only been in therapy for a couple weeks, I am nervous to tell my therapist even though I think she might be able to help me. Are there any suggestions you have to work on this problem. It makes me wish I could live in a bubble and not talk to anyone. I feel stuck in my life! Gilbert
