Dealing with work relationships
Posted by By: Dr. Laura Berman on September 04 2018
Dr Berman, I am loud, fun, love to laugh and have never been a wall flower. I started a new job 6 weeks ago and I made a ton of friends already. I am also working very closely with my boss. I have never felt like I had to curb my behavior around anyone. People have always told me how warm and inviting and easy to talk to I am. Well, I guess I was too warm and inviting to my boss because a week ago we had to work late on a project and we were laughing and having a great time and out of no where he leaned over and kissed me. I was shocked and then kind of weirded out. I told him I wasn’t interested in anything and he said that I shouldn’t have been such a flirt then and that I give people the wrong idea. Needless to say, I am pretty distraught and he has not spoken to me except short answers since. I need to clear the air. I know he feels embarrassed, so how do I go about it. It was awkard and weird and I can see maybe where he is coming from, but I love this job and company and just want to move on. Any ideas? Rochelle
